As of 24 October 2026 (7 Kartik 2083). Prices read on OpenAI’s ChatGPT pricing page and Google’s Gemini subscriptions and Google One plans pages, opened from a Nepal internet connection without signing in, plus OpenAI’s and Google’s help articles on the two plans. We did not buy either plan. The price you see at checkout, signed in, can differ.
The ChatGPT Go price in Nepal is US$8 a month, as listed on OpenAI’s ChatGPT pricing page when we opened it from Nepal on 24 October 2026. Google’s cheaper rival, Google AI Plus, was listed at US$4.99 a month for the 400 GB version on Google’s Gemini subscriptions page with Nepal selected. Both are billed in dollars, so you will need a card that can pay abroad.
This guide compares what each plan gives you, how to pay from Nepal, how to see your exact local price before you commit, and which one fits which kind of user.

ChatGPT Go price in Nepal: what the official pages say
OpenAI’s pricing page lists four individual plans. When we opened it from Nepal it showed Free at US$0, Go at US$8 a month, Plus at US$20 a month, and Pro from US$100 a month.
OpenAI’s January 2026 announcement says Go is US$8 in the United States and adds that Go pricing is localized in some markets. Its billing help article lists the countries with local-currency pricing. Nepal is not on that list. Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India are.
Our reading: on the web, a Nepali buyer should expect a US-dollar charge close to the listed US$8, plus any tax shown at checkout. If you subscribe through the ChatGPT app on Android or iPhone, OpenAI says Google Play or the App Store manages the subscription and charges in local currency, so the in-app price may be different.
We covered the bigger plans in our ChatGPT Plus price in Nepal guide. This post focuses on the two budget plans.
Google AI Plus price in Nepal
Google sells AI Plus in two storage sizes, according to its “Get a Google AI Plus membership” help page: 400 GB or 2 TB.
- 400 GB version: Google’s Gemini subscriptions page, with Nepal shown in the region selector, listed it at US$4.99 a month.
- 2 TB version: Google One’s plans page, opened from Nepal, listed “Google AI Plus (2 TB)” at US$9.99 a month. That page does not name a country, so treat this figure as indicative.
Google’s help page lists Nepal among the countries where AI Plus is available, and says you can choose a monthly or an annual plan. The Google One page shows an annual toggle that says you can save up to 16%, but we did not record an annual price for Nepal.
When Google expanded AI Plus in September 2025, TechCrunch reported a 50% discount for six months in a few countries including Nepal. That was a launch offer. Whether any discount applies to you now will only show at checkout.
Side-by-side: what you get
This comparison uses only what each company’s own page lists for the plan.
| Feature | ChatGPT Go (US$8) | Google AI Plus (US$4.99, 400 GB) |
|---|---|---|
| Chat model access | Unlimited everyday text chats, subject to abuse guardrails; access to “Think” reasoning on web and mobile | Access to Google’s Flash model with 2x the usage limits of the free tier |
| Image creation | More image creation than Free | Image features in the Gemini app; more Nano Banana access in Search |
| Video | Not listed for Go | Video generation, plus 200 Google Flow credits for Google’s creative studio |
| File uploads and data analysis | More uploads and more data analysis than Free | Not listed separately |
| Memory | Longer memory than Free | Not listed |
| Research notebook | Not listed | Gemini Notebook with more Audio Overviews and notebooks |
| Inside email and documents | Not listed | Gemini in Gmail, Vids and more |
| Cloud storage | None | 400 GB across Gmail, Drive and Photos |
| Ads | “This plan may include ads” | Not mentioned |
| Billing | Monthly only | Monthly or annual |
Two things stand out. Google AI Plus includes storage, which many people in Nepal already pay for separately once their free 15 GB fills up with phone photos. ChatGPT Go has no storage but gives longer memory and more room for uploads and analysis inside ChatGPT.
ChatGPT Go price in Nepal per year, AI Plus, and your dollar card limit
Nepal Rastra Bank’s limit for an ordinary individual on a foreign-currency prepaid card is US$500 a year. Our dollar card fees and limits guide explains the rule and which banks publish their card charges.
| Plan | Price per month | Price per year (our calculation) | Left from US$500 (our calculation) |
|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Go | US$8 | US$96 | US$404 |
| Google AI Plus, 400 GB | US$4.99 | US$59.88 | US$440.12 |
| Google AI Plus, 2 TB | US$9.99 | US$119.88 | US$380.12 |
| Both Go and AI Plus 400 GB | US$12.99 | US$155.88 | US$344.12 |
These are list prices before any tax or bank conversion fee. To estimate rupees, multiply the dollar amount by your bank’s card selling rate on the day. For example, at an illustrative rate of Rs 150 per dollar, ChatGPT Go would be about Rs 1,200 a month and AI Plus 400 GB about Rs 749 (our calculation). Your card statement will differ with the actual rate.
How to see your exact local price before paying
Both companies show the final amount on the checkout screen before you confirm. Use that screen to check the real figure.
- Sign in with the account you will actually use. Prices and offers can depend on the account’s country.
- For ChatGPT Go on the web: open ChatGPT, select your profile icon, choose Upgrade Plan, then Try Go. Read the currency, the amount and any tax line.
- For Google AI Plus: go to Google One, choose Google AI Plus, and review the membership price and payment date that Google shows before you click Agree.
- In the mobile apps, the Google Play or App Store sheet shows the price in the store’s currency. Compare it with the web price before choosing.
- If any screen shows a figure you did not expect, close it. Nothing is charged until you confirm the payment step.
How to pay from Nepal
OpenAI’s pricing page says you can pay for Go with any major credit card, and its billing article lists credit and debit cards as the payment method for all countries. Google’s help page simply asks you to select a payment method at checkout.
In practice, most people in Nepal use a dollar card (an e-com or foreign-currency prepaid card) from a Nepali bank. Steps that avoid failed payments:
- Ask your bank to confirm the card is enabled for international online transactions.
- Load a little more than one month’s price, to cover any tax or rate difference.
- Enter the card details yourself on the official checkout page. Do not give them to an agent.
- Keep the card topped up before the renewal date. A failed renewal can end the paid plan.
Prepaid cards are sometimes declined by a merchant’s payment system. If yours is, ask your bank first before trying another card. Avoid “shared” or resold AI accounts sold on social media; you do not control the login, and others may see your chats.
Which one should you buy?
Choose ChatGPT Go if you mainly write, study or work through problems in long conversations, upload documents and spreadsheets for analysis, and want ChatGPT to remember more context. It fits students writing assignments, job seekers polishing CVs, and small business owners drafting content.
Choose Google AI Plus if your phone storage is already full, you live in Gmail and Google Drive, or you want to try video and image creation. At the 400 GB price it costs less than Go and solves the storage problem too.
Stay on the free plans if you use AI a few times a week. Both free tiers handle everyday questions. Test for two weeks and upgrade only when you keep hitting limits.
Our reading: for a typical Nepali household, the deciding factor is often storage. If you would otherwise buy Google storage anyway, AI Plus adds Gemini features for little extra. If you never think about storage and want the stronger chat experience, Go is the simpler pick. Our ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini comparison covers how the assistants differ in daily use.
Things to check before you subscribe
- Age limits: Google says several AI Plus features, including Gemini in Gmail and Google Flow, are for users aged 18 or older.
- Account type: Google AI Plus needs a personal Google Account, not a work or school account.
- Existing Google One plans: Google says you cannot upgrade to AI Plus if your Google One membership came through a third-party partner or Pixel Pass.
- Switching ChatGPT plans: OpenAI says moving from Plus or Pro to Go does not give a refund; Go starts at the end of your current billing cycle.
- Cancelling: both companies let you cancel at any time. Google states there are no refunds for partial billing periods, except where the law requires.
