Looking for the best mobile under 20000 in Nepal is harder in 2026 than it was two years ago. We went to the official price lists instead of dealer rumours, and the result is short. Among the brand websites we checked, only vivo lists phones under Rs 20,000. Samsung’s cheapest phone at its authorised store costs Rs 30,499.
That changes how to shop in this budget. The list below gives every phone with an official price under Rs 20,000, what each one offers on paper, and what you get if you can stretch a little.
Key takeaways
- Seven vivo models carry an official price under Rs 20,000, from Rs 12,999 to Rs 19,999.
- The newest of them is the vivo Y05e at Rs 19,999 for 4 GB + 64 GB.
- The best memory for the money is the vivo Y18 at Rs 16,999 or the Y19s at Rs 17,499, both with 6 GB + 128 GB.
- Samsung has nothing under Rs 20,000. Its cheapest phone at Samsung Plaza is the Galaxy A07s 4G at Rs 30,499.
- Xiaomi Nepal’s website lists its phones without prices, so Redmi models are not in this list.
How this list was made
Only two kinds of source were used.
- A brand’s own Nepal website. vivo Nepal prints the price of each model on its product page.
- A brand’s authorised store. Samsung Plaza describes itself as Nepal’s authorised and exclusive retailer for Samsung products.
Dealer price lists, marketplace listings and news round-ups were not used. That is the reason some popular budget phones are missing. If a brand does not publish a Nepal price, we cannot confirm one.
Every phone with an official price under Rs 20,000
All seven are vivo Y-series phones. Prices are as printed on vivo Nepal’s product page.

Every one of them has an HD+ screen, a 5 MP or 8 MP front camera and a battery listed at 5,000 mAh or more. Charging is 15 W on all except the Y02t, which is 10 W.
One caution. Several of these are older models that are still on vivo’s page at their listed price. Being listed is not the same as being in stock. Ask an authorised vivo shop before you travel for one.
Best mobile under 20000 in Nepal: which one to pick
This is our reading of the specification sheets, not a test result.
If memory matters most: vivo Y18 or Y19s, 6 + 128 GB
At Rs 16,999 and Rs 17,499 these two give 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, with a 50 MP main camera and a 90 Hz screen. In this budget that is the combination that keeps a phone usable for longest. The Y18’s Helio G85 is the better-known chip for light gaming.
If you want the newest model: vivo Y05e
The Y05e is the only current-generation phone under Rs 20,000 and the only one listed with OriginOS 6. The trade-off is plain: 4 GB + 64 GB and an 8 MP rear camera for Rs 19,999. You pay for newness, not for hardware.
If the budget is Rs 15,000: vivo Y04 or Y03, 4 + 128 GB
Take the 128 GB version of either one. The Rs 1,000 difference over the 64 GB model buys double the storage, and 64 GB fills up within a year of photos and app updates.
What we would skip
The Y02t at Rs 12,999 has the oldest chip, the slowest charging and no high-refresh screen. It is a basic phone for calls, eSewa and WhatsApp, and little more.
If you can stretch above Rs 20,000
A few thousand rupees more opens up newer options on the same official lists.
| Model | Memory | Official price | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| vivo Y19s Pro | 8 + 128 GB | Rs 20,999 | vivo Nepal |
| vivo Y21d | 6 + 128 GB | Rs 21,499 | vivo Nepal |
| vivo Y05 | 4 + 64 GB | Rs 21,999 | vivo Nepal |
| vivo Y21d | 8 + 128 GB | Rs 23,499 | vivo Nepal |
| vivo Y05 | 4 + 128 GB | Rs 24,999 | vivo Nepal |
| vivo Y11d | 4 + 128 GB | Rs 27,999 | vivo Nepal |
| Samsung Galaxy A07s 4G | Base model | Rs 30,499 | Samsung Plaza |
| Samsung Galaxy A08 4G | 4 + 64 GB | Rs 34,499 | Samsung Plaza |
The Y19s Pro is the notable one. For Rs 999 over the limit it lists 8 GB of RAM and 44 W charging.
Five checks before you pay
- Buy from an authorised shop and ask for the distributor’s warranty card.
- Check the IMEI. A phone that is not registered in Nepal’s device system can stop working on local SIMs. Our guide to MDMS and IMEI registration shows how to check.
- Take the VAT bill. It protects the warranty claim, and it enters you in the tax office’s bill lottery.
- Choose 128 GB storage if the gap is Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000.
- Compare against the official price. If a shop quotes more than the figure on the brand’s page, ask why.
If your budget is far higher, our iPhone price list uses the same official-source method.

Frequently asked questions
Which is the best mobile under 20000 in Nepal in 2026?
Among phones with an official published price, the vivo Y18 and Y19s with 6 GB + 128 GB offer the most for the money at Rs 16,999 and Rs 17,499. The newest model in the range is the vivo Y05e at Rs 19,999.
Is there a Samsung phone under 20000 in Nepal?
Not at Samsung’s authorised store. On 13 October 2026 the cheapest phone at Samsung Plaza was the Galaxy A07s 4G at Rs 30,499.
Why are Redmi phones not in this list?
Xiaomi Nepal’s website lists its phones without prices, and we use only prices a brand or its authorised store publishes. On the realme, OPPO and HONOR Nepal sites we found no published price under Rs 20,000 either. This is a limit of the sources, not a judgement on the phones.
What is the cheapest smartphone with an official price?
The vivo Y02t at Rs 12,999 on vivo Nepal’s product page.
Is a 4 GB RAM phone enough in 2026?
For calls, payments and messaging, yes. For social media, video and several apps at once, 6 GB is noticeably more comfortable.
Conclusion
The best mobile under 20000 in Nepal comes down to a short official list: seven vivo models, with the Y18 and Y19s giving the most memory and the Y05e being the newest. Samsung starts at Rs 30,499 and Xiaomi does not publish its prices, so a wider list would mean trusting unofficial numbers.
Decide first whether you want more memory or a newer model. Then check the phone’s IMEI and take the bill.
