YouTube monetization in Nepal is available. Nepal is on YouTube’s list of countries where creators can sign up for the YouTube Partner Program. The entry bar is 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million Shorts views in the last 90 days.
Earnings are paid through AdSense for YouTube. For a payment address in Nepal, Google’s table lists two methods, wire transfer and cheque, with payment starting once the balance reaches US$100.
One thing is different for Nepal. The earlier, 500-subscriber tier that unlocks fan funding first is offered only in listed countries, and Nepal was not on that list when we read it.

YouTube monetization requirements in Nepal
YouTube Help gives two routes into the Partner Program. A channel needs either one.

Watch hours from Shorts viewed in the Shorts feed do not count towards the 4,000 hours. The two routes are counted separately.
A channel must also:
- follow YouTube’s channel monetization policies;
- be based in a country where the program is available, which includes Nepal;
- have no active Community Guidelines strikes;
- have 2-Step Verification turned on for the Google account;
- have access to advanced features on YouTube;
- have one active AdSense for YouTube account linked, or set one up during the application.
The 500-subscriber tier and Nepal
YouTube runs an expanded tier that lets smaller channels earn from fan funding and Shopping before they reach 1,000 subscribers.

YouTube Help lists the countries where the expanded tier is offered and says creators elsewhere see no change. Nepal was not in that list on 13 October 2026. For a channel in Nepal, the working target is therefore the full program at 1,000 subscribers.
How to apply
These are the steps in YouTube Help.
- Sign in to YouTube.
- Select your profile picture, then YouTube Studio.
- Choose Earn in the left menu.
- Select Apply now.
- Choose Start to review and accept the base terms.
- Choose Start to set up an AdSense for YouTube account, or link an existing one.
When those steps are done, the review step shows as in progress. YouTube then reviews the channel against its policies.
How YouTube pays creators in Nepal
Payment comes from AdSense for YouTube, not from YouTube directly.

The PIN step can take time. It is posted to the address in your payments profile, so write that address the way your local post office delivers it.

The US tax form every creator has to fill
Google asks creators outside the United States to submit US tax information in AdSense. For a non-US creator that means a W-8 form.

Two points follow for a creator in Nepal.
- Submit the form. Without it, an individual account loses 24% of everything, not only the US part.
- Expect 30% on the US part. The United States’ list of income tax treaty countries does not include Nepal, so the no-treaty rate applies to earnings from viewers there. Earnings from viewers in Nepal, India or anywhere else outside the United States are not touched by this rule.

Tax in Nepal
Money received from YouTube is income, and income earned by a resident of Nepal is within Nepal’s income tax. How it is treated depends on whether you earn it as an individual or through a registered firm, and on your other income.

YouTube Help says updates to the Partner Program take effect on 1 February 2027. To keep monetizing fully, creators must accept the updated terms in YouTube Studio by 31 January 2027. If your channel is already in the program, look for the prompt in the Earn tab.

The thresholds reward steady publishing. Three habits help, and they cost nothing.
- Pick one subject and stay with it long enough for viewers to know what the channel is for.
