ASUS has opened its first official store in Nepal. The exclusive experience store sits right opposite Computer Bazar in Kathmandu (Putalisadak), and it sells the full ASUS laptop range under one roof, from student Vivobooks to ROG gaming machines.
At the opening, ASUS also launched two of the most expensive laptops ever sold in Nepal: the ROG Zephyrus Duo with two 16-inch OLED screens, at about Rs 13.89 lakh, and the ROG Strix SCAR 18, at about Rs 10.89 lakh.

Why an official store matters
Until now, Nepali buyers got ASUS laptops through multi-brand shops and kiosks. That meant different prices at different counters and confusion about who handles warranty claims.
An official store changes three things for a buyer:
- Try before you buy: every series is on display, so you can test the keyboard, screen and weight before paying.
- One place for the whole range: Zenbook, Vivobook, TUF and ROG sit together, which makes comparison easier.
- Clear after-sales: ASUS says it has a dedicated local service partner and plans service collection points in major cities outside Kathmandu.
ASUS’s South Asia regional director, Eric, came to Kathmandu for the opening. He told TechPana that Nepal’s young population and fast adoption of digital technology make it a strategically important market.
ROG Zephyrus Duo: Nepal’s first dual-screen OLED gaming laptop

ASUS presented the Zephyrus Duo as Nepal’s first dual-screen OLED gaming laptop. It is two full 16-inch laptops’ worth of screen, joined by a hinge, with a detachable keyboard and a built-in kickstand.

The design allows five modes, including dual screen stacked, normal laptop, book mode and a flat sharing mode where two people sit face to face. ASUS pitches it at creators who want a timeline on one screen and a preview on the other, and at gamers who want a game on one screen and chat or a guide on the other.

Our reading: at close to Rs 14 lakh, this is a niche machine. It makes sense for video editors, 3D artists and streamers who would otherwise buy a laptop plus a portable monitor. For most students and office users, it is far more than they need.

What else is in the store
TechPana lists four families on display:
| Series | Who it is for |
|---|---|
| Zenbook (14 and 16 inch) | Thin, light premium laptops for professionals |
| Vivobook and Vivobook S | Students and office users, with AI features |
| TUF Gaming | Budget and mid-range gaming |
| ROG | High-end gaming and content creation |
TechPana did not publish prices for the Zenbook, Vivobook or TUF models in its report, so check the price tag in the store or with authorised sellers.
Warranty and the 20% damage cover
ASUS announced four commitments for Nepali buyers: quality products, a dedicated local service partner, a one-year international warranty, and a value-added service for accidental damage.
The damage cover is the most interesting part. According to TechPana, if a laptop is physically damaged by the user’s mistake or by accident, the customer pays only 20% of the total repair cost.
There is one difference between reports. GadgetByte’s Zephyrus Duo listing mentions a two-year international warranty and one year of accidental damage protection. Warranty length may depend on the model or an opening offer, so ask the store to write the warranty period on your bill.
Before you buy: a five-point check
- Get the exact model code (for example GX651 or G835LXG). The same name can hide very different configurations.
- Ask for the VAT bill and check that the price includes VAT.
- Confirm the warranty in writing: length, international or local, and whether accidental damage cover is included and for how long.
- Ask where to claim service if you live outside Kathmandu, since collection points are still being expanded.
- Compare with authorised dealers. An official store does not always mean the lowest price, especially during festival offers.
