🎯 Learning Objective

By the end of this module, you will understand what marketing is, its core components, the customer journey, and how effective marketing drives business success—setting a strong foundation for running paid Facebook ads.

🧠 What is Marketing?

Marketing is the process of identifying, anticipating, and satisfying customer needs profitably. It includes:

  • Researching the market
  • Understanding the audience
  • Creating products or offers that solve problems
  • Communicating value through content, ads, and other channels

💡 The 4 Pillars of Marketing (4Ps)

  • Product – What are you selling? How does it solve a problem?
  • Price – Is your pricing competitive? Premium or budget-friendly?
  • Place – Where can people find or buy your product/service?
  • Promotion – How will you tell your audience about it? (This is where Facebook Ads comes in!)

🔄 The Marketing Funnel (AIDA Model)

  • A – Awareness: Make your audience aware that your brand exists.
  • I – Interest: Give them a reason to care.
  • D – Desire: Show benefits and build an emotional connection.
  • A – Action: Lead them to take action (purchase, sign up, message).

🧭 Types of Marketing

  • Digital Marketing – Facebook Ads, Google Ads, SEO, Email, Social Media, etc.
  • Traditional Marketing – Flyers, TV ads, Billboards.
  • Influencer / Affiliate / Referral Marketing – All depend on building trust and attention.

🧍 Understanding Your Customer (Customer Avatar)

Before running ads, ask yourself:

  • Who is your target audience?
  • What problem are they facing?
  • What solution are they searching for?
  • Where do they hang out online?
  • How do they talk?

🛠️ Tools to Use

  • Google Trends (for market demand)
  • Canva (for marketing creatives)
  • Meta Audience Insights (to understand Facebook audiences)
  • SurveyMonkey or Google Forms (for customer feedback)

🔑 Core Marketing Concepts to Remember

  • Marketing is a relationship, not just a sale.
  • Customer attention is your #1 currency.
  • Don’t just sell a product—sell a solution or a feeling.
